जगातील सर्वोत्कृष्ट फोटो भंडाऱ्यात रंगलेला जेजुरीच्या मंदिराचा हा फोटो ठरला असून या फोटोने जगभरातील सर्वात मोठा माहितीचा स्रोत असलेल्या विकीपिडीयाने आयोजित केलेल्या एका स्पर्धेमध्ये पहिला क्रमांक पटकावला आहे.
जगभरातील व्यक्तींकडून त्यांच्या प्रदेशातील प्रेक्षणीय स्थळांचे फोटो विकीपीडीयाने मागवले होते. ४५ हून अधिक देशांमधील नागरिकांनी यामध्ये त्यांच्या देशातील सर्वोत्तम प्रेक्षणीय स्थळांचे लाखो फोटो पाठवले. भारतातूनच केवळ सात हजारांहून अधिक फोटो या स्पर्धेसाठी पाठवण्यात आले होते. त्यामध्ये प्रशांत खारोटे यांनी सोमवती अमावस्येच्या दिवशी जेजुरीच्या गडावर टिपलेल्या खंडोबाच्या यात्रेच्या या फोटोला पहिले पारितोषिक मिळाले आहे. ‘लोकमत वृत्तपत्रसमूहा’च्या नाशिक आवृत्तीचे प्रशांत खारोटे हे छायाचित्रकार असून आंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तरावर त्यांच्या या चित्राची झालेल्या गौरवाची माहिती महाराष्ट्र राज्य सरकारअंतर्गत येणाऱ्या माहिती केंद्रच्या ट्विटर हॅण्डलवरून देण्यात आली असून खंडेरायांच्या भक्तांकरीता ही अभिमानाची गोष्ट आहे.
