नवी दिल्ली : सुधारित नागरिकत्त्व कायद्याला देशभरात अजूनही विरोध सुरू आहे. याचेच पडसाद पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदींच्या आसाम दौऱ्यावर पडलेलेही दिसले. मोदींचा आज आसाम दौरा होता, मात्र सीएएला सर्वांत जास्त विरोध हा पश्चिम बंगाल आणि आसाममध्ये झाला. मोदी आसाममध्ये आल्यास मोठं आंदोलन केलं जाईल असं ऑल आसाम स्टुडंट्स युनियनकडून सांगण्यात आलं. त्यामुळे कायदा सुव्यवस्थेचा विचार करून मोदींचा दौरा रद्द करण्यात आला आहे
पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी आज खेलो इंडिया युथ गेम्सच्या उद्धाटनासाठी येणार होते. पण आसाम सरकारकडून निवेदन देण्यात आले की, ‘पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी युथ गेमच्या उद्धाटनासाठी येणार नाहीत.’ आता आसामचे मुख्यमंत्री सर्वानंद सोनोवाल मोदींना 22 जानेवारील होणाऱ्या सांगता समारंभाचे निमंत्रण देण्यासाठी दिल्लीला जातील. तसेच पंतप्रधान कार्यालयाकडून कोणत्याही प्रकारचे उत्तर आले नव्हते असे, खेलो इंडिया यूथ गेम्सचे मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी अविनाश जोशी यांनी सांगितले.

मोदींचा आज आसाम व पश्चिम बंगाल या दोन्ही राज्यात दौरा होता, त्यामुळे आसामचा दौरा रद्द करण्यात आला असे सूत्रांनी सांगितले. यापूर्वीही मोदींचा आसाम दौरा अशाच प्रकारे रद्द करण्यात आला होता. जपानचे पंतप्रधान शिंजो आबे व मोदींमधील ही भेट आसाममध्ये होणार होती, मात्र सीएएविरोधातील आंदोलनांमुळे ती रद्द करण्यात आली.
