पुणे शहरात पोलिसांनी हेल्मेट सक्ती सुरू केली आहे हेल्मेट सक्ती जरी वाहन चालकांच्या जीवासाठी सुरक्षित असले तरी या हेल्मेट सक्ती मध्ये वाहन चालकांकडून कमालीचा दंड वसूल केला जात आहे मात्र वाहतूक पोलीस हेल्मेट सक्तीच्या नियमांची पायमल्ली करताना दिसत आहेत.
पुणे शहर व उपनगरात, चौका-चौकात वाहतूक पोलिसांची सध्या हेल्मेटसक्ती संदर्भात जोरदार कारवाई सुरू आहे, वाहनचालकांनी हेल्मेट घातले नाही तर वाहतूक पोलिस त्यांना बाजूला घेऊन मोठ्या दंडाची पावती करतात आणि दंडाची पावती करत असताना वाहन चालक आणि वाद घातले तर वेळप्रसंगी शासकीय कामात अडथळा केल्याची कायदेशीर कारवाई देखील करतात.
हडपसर उपनगरात सुद्धा हेल्मेट सक्तीची कारवाई जोरदार सुरू आहे, शेवाळवाडी येथे वाहतूक पोलीस आपल्या बुलेटवर हेल्मेट बाजूला लावून नियमांची पायमल्ली करत वाहन चालवताना अनेक वाहनचालकांनी पाहिले व फोटोही काढले.
नियम सर्वांना सारखे असतात जर सर्वसामान्य नागरिकांनी नियम तोडले तर वाहतूक पोलिस कारवाई करतात व वाहतूक पोलिसांनी नियमांची पायमल्ली केली तर आता वरिष्ठ अधिकारी काय कारवाई करतात याकडे सर्वांचे लक्ष लागले आहे
नागपूरहुन पुण्यात आलेले पोलीस आयुक्त डॉ. के वेंकटेशम यांनी पुण्यात हेल्मेट सक्तीचा आग्रह धरला मात्र प्रथम पोलिस अधिकाऱ्यांनी नियम पाळावेत असे संकेत असताना पोलिसांनीच नियमांची मोडतोड केल्यास सामान्यांनी दाद कोणाकडे मागायची असा सवाल या निमित्ताने निर्माण झाला आहे.
